The interest of apartment buildings in energy audit has increased
In comparison to last year, within the first six months of this year apartment buildings have more actively applied for the grant from KredEx for drafting energy audits. If last year the total number of grants for drafting of energy audits was 429, within the first six months of this year already 336 apartment buildings have been supported. Also interest in building expert evaluation and building design grants issued by KredEx has increased.
“In last months it can be seen that apartment associations pay more attention to energy saving and reconstruction of buildings. An increase in the price of electricity and the extraordinarily cold winter have definitely had an influence,” said Mirja Adler, head of the Housing Division of KredEx.
Before starting renovation work, KredEx certainly recommends for apartment buildings to order an energy audit. An energy audit gives an overview of the energetic state of a building, and within the audit suggestions are made for increasing the energy efficiency of a building.
The maximum amount of financing of energy audit grant is up to 50% of the eligible costs and the minimum amount of self-financing is 50%. Maximum grant amounts per one apartment building per one calendar year are 700 EUR per energy audit grant application, 700 EUR per building expert evaluation grant application and 4,000 EUR per building design grant application.
For financing of the grants, the European Regional Development Fund has allocated 1,597,791 Euros for years 2007 - 2013.
